Livio Casarini, PhD, is Associate Professor of Molecular and Translational Endocrinology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Responsible of the research team in basic and translational endocrinology, where he studies the endocrine regulation of human reproduction, glycoprotein and sex steroid hormones and their receptors. Main scientific achievements account for studies of gonadotropin-mediated signaling, GPCR heteromerization and allosteric modulation of hormone-induced intracellular signals. He is tutoring four post-doc fellows, four PhD students and about ten Master Degree students per year, which are actively involved in international research projects in collaboration with research teams from France, UK, Poland, Germany and South Africa. He is engaged in research project focused on reproduction and contraception with international Institution such as the pharmaceutical Companies and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He is author of about 100 peer-reviewed international scientific papers.
