Dexeus Fertility presents its latest research at the ESHRE 40th Annual Meeting

The team of clinicians and scientists from Dexeus Fertility, the Department of Reproductive Medicine of Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona (Spain), attended the annual Congress of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), which was held in Amsterdam from 7 to 10 July.

They presented 9 lectures and 5 posters, sharing the results of their research with the world. This included studies on the most important issues in reproductive health, such as the impact of environmental pollution on fertility, the use of Artificial Intelligence to select the best embryo, and the development of new strategies to improve embryo implantation. The team presented work led by our local Dexeus Fertility team, as well as the results of national and international collaborations.

The papers led by researchers Valeria Donno and Sebastian Leathersich, Fertility Specialist at City Fertility in Perth (Australia) and PhD candidate at Dexeus Fertility, were among those nominated for the Clinical Science Award and the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand Exchange Award.

Keep reading to see all of the studies presented by our team in Amsterdam this year.

O-074 Dual trigger is not superior to GnRH Agonist alone for final oocyte maturation in elective fertility preservation. A Randomized Controlled Trial

V. Donno, A. R. Neves, S. Garcia Martinez, N. P. Polyzos
Adding hCG to GnRH-a for triggering final oocyte maturation does not increase the number of MII oocytes in elective fertility preservation cycles.

Abstract citation ID: deae108.081
O-075 Particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) exposure prior to oocyte collection is associated with decreased live birth rates in subsequent frozen embryo transfers

S. Leathersich, C. Roche, M. Walls, E. Nathan, R. Hart
Increasing PM10 and PM2.5 exposure prior to OPU is associated with decreased odds of live birth in subsequent FET, independent of the conditions at FET.

O-147 Role of serum progesterone levels and subcutaneous progesterone supplementation in endometriosis patients undergoing artificial cycle frozen embryo transfer

N. Sachs Guedj, B. Coroleu, M. Álvarez, S. García, N. P. Polyzos
Endometriosis patients have comparable progesterone levels before transfer to those without endometriosis. Progesterone supplementation results in similar live birth rate (LBR) to the general population.

Abstract citation ID: deae108.182
O-163 The effect of ambient exposure to air pollutants on live birth rates in frozen embryo transfer cycles

M. Solsona Caba, S. Leathersich, V. Donno, I. Rodriguez, N. Polyzos
Environmental exposure to increased concentrations of CO either on oocyte retrieval or embryo transfer day negatively influences clinical outcomes in FET cycles.

HS imaging can significantly enhance our classification of human embryos and reveal numerous cellular features present in the embryo invisible to brightfield imaging.

Abstract citation ID: deae108.343
O-290 Reduced uterine artery pulsatility index (UtAPI) in artificial frozen embryo transfer pregnancies leads to underestimation of 1st-trimester preeclampsia risk. An analysis of over 30,000 pregnancies

N. P. Polyzos, V. Donno, I. Rodríguez Garcia
A significant reduction in UtAPI during 1st-trimester screening is observed in artificial frozen embryo transfer (AC-FET) pregnancies, resulting in underestimated preeclampsia risk.
