Gemma Arroyo, a senior embryologist at Dexeus Mujer, has been appointed as the new Coordinator of the Special Interest Group on Embryology of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). This position, which she will hold from 2022 to 2024, is renewed every two years and is one of the most relevant in the field of clinical embryology worldwide.
The purpose of this working group is to unify criteria and draw up best practices guidelines so that all specialists involved in embryology can coordinate their work and do so within certain guidelines and standards, while respecting the legislative and cultural differences between the different member states. The special interest group also monitors ongoing research and new techniques in this field in order to validate their application and organises training courses so that professionals can update their knowledge on an ongoing basis.
