On 29 November, the scientific symposium Advancing Regenerative Medicine in Uro-Gynaecology and Beyondtook place at the auditorium of the Hospital Universitari Dexeus in Barcelona. The biotech company Regen Lab, the Biobridge Foundation and Dexeus Mujer jointly promoted the initiative. The aim of the event was to bring together some of the best experts and researchers in this field so that they could share their knowledge and expose the latest advances in the application of Regenerative Medicine in Urogynaecology, with a multidisciplinary approach.
The Symposium Organisation Committee was composed of Antonella De Ponte and Sam Ward, Carlo Turzi, Sarah Berndt, Aziz Rehouma, Marc-Elliott Spafford and Manuel Nogueroles.
The scientific programme addressed key issues related to the sexual and reproductive health of men and non-binary people, as well as women’s intimate wellbeing. It also offered reviews and presentations of the latest publications on the clinical management of some problems, such as erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease, lichen scleroses, surgical interventions, female genital mutilation, oncological aspects, fertility, menopausal genitourinary syndrome, dryness and vulvovaginal atrophy.
More the 120 people from 30 countries attended the event. The symposium facilitated interaction between health professionals, the exchange of ideas and the establishment of new contacts. The European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM) and the Spanish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (SEGO) supported the event.
