Dr Mark Grossmann i Camps, born in Barcelona in 1965, performed his academic studies in Biological Sciences at the Universitat Aautònoma de Barcelona, first with a Bachelor’s degree and later as a PhD researcher (1999). His PhD thesis was about cryopreservation of mouse embryos using slow freezing protocols.
He is currently vice-president of ASEBIR and the representative of the Council of Colleges of Biologists in the National Commission of Assisted Human Reproduction that advises the Spanish Government.
Senior clinical embryologist with more than 30 years of experience in ART, he has worked in 4 different IVF laboratories and since 2014 he is co-director of embryology at the Barcelona IVF one.
35 articles published in domestic and international scientific journals and professor in the master’s degree in Reproduction Biology (Institut Universitari Dexeus) and in the master’s degree in Cell Biology (UAB).
Member of ESHRE and the Catalan Society of Biology, in 2020 he received the award for his professional career, an award granted every year by the College of Biologists of Catalonia.
